Spartan

Spartan -
Born May 10, 2015
Adopted September 3, 2015
Tennessee Walking Horse

Spartan was born several weeks premature due to the Nurse Mare Industry. He suffered cryptosporidium, Rhodococcus, Rotavirum, and Corona Virus treated with Pen&Gent, Sulfamethoxazole (SMZs), Chloramphenicol, Erytho/Rifampin (I promise none of those are spelled correctly!) for the first couple months of his life. This rough start caused severe stunting of his growth pattern. Therefore, he is only estimated to mature to 13hh (14hh max), which is extremely small for a Tennessee Walking Horse. The vet has given him a clean bill of health and a bright (albeit small) future!

Due to his very difficult start to life, Spartan has had a difficult time keeping weight. He looks very frail, but I have confidence that he will fill out quickly! He is very weary of humans due to his whole interactions being vets and medical care dispensing. Once you are able to get your hands on him, he is a very loving and willing colt. I have faith that he will come around with some kind and gentle care.
